5 Winter Fragrances for Men
As the colder months approach it’s time to retire the fresh stuff for something richer and winter-ready. Here, we’ve selected the best new winter fragrance for men:
Tobacco Vanille by TOM FORD
Inspired by an English gentlemen’s club, redolent with spice. Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford is a Oriental Spicy fragrance for women and men. Tobacco Vanille was launched in 2007. Top notes are tobacco leaf and spicy notes; middle notes are tonka bean, tobacco blossom, vanilla and cacao; base notes are dried fruits and woody notes.
Tobacco Vanille is warm, elegant and comforting in a unique way. The vanilla and tobacco notes fight for dominance, with the dried fruits and cocoa notes trace the background. Tobacco Vanille is gorgeous, full, warm, and sensual, and reminds of clove cigarettes. Tobacco Vanille is a beautiful blend, this is one for all of your Fall and Winter Formal events.
Upon first spray, it smells like straight-up Jaegermeister. To the degree where I gagged. After that, it smells like a creamy clove. That hangs around for a while. Then when the spiciness goes away, you are left with a weird, creamy, herbal scent that reminds me of walking into a hookah bar.
If you like tobacco, definitely have to try this one out. This is a mix of very realistic tobacco and sweet, delicious, but never cloying, vanilla. Well balanced, perfectly unisex, and super long lasting.
Jazz Club by Maison Martin Margiela
Jazz Club by Maison Martin Margiela is a Leather fragrance for men. Was launched in 2013. The nose behind this fragrance is Alienor Massenet. Top notes are Pink Pepper, Lemon and Neroli; middle notes are rum, clary sage and Java Vetiver oil; base notes are tobacco leaf, vanilla bean and Styrax.
Jazz Club immortalizes the masculine and exhilarating ambiance of a Brooklyn jazz club. The balmy base scent of musk, Vanilla, Tonka bean, Vetiver, and tobacco leaves combine to evoke a familiar but forgotten moment—a night’s sojourn to a hidden jazz club.
Close your eyes and let the fragrance transport you to the memory of sinking into a deep leather armchair. Listen for the sweet reinterpretation of classic notes and coppery tones as they float through the subdued lighting. Cocktails linger, wafting their liquor-infused scents through the maze of bar stools and the subtle strains of tobacco.
The silhouette of each ‘REPLICA’ bottle is inspired by classic apothecary jars, allowing the collection to be instantly identifiable. Each bottle carries a 100% cotton label, which is printed using black ink text and resembles the tags used on the clothing and accessories for the ‘REPLICA’ couture collection. The unique pumps are wrapped with a rope to symbolize the authentic reproduction of the original ‘REPLICA’ couture line.
The house of Prada launches La Femme Prada and L’Homme Prada mid-2016. The new fragrant “pair of equals” represents man and woman that are “reunited in an identical vision. She could be him, he could be her. She is an absolute woman, he is an absolute man. There is not an obvious definition of relationship between them. They could be lovers, friends, or even strangers. Both have multiple identities. L’Homme Prada is a modern scent that combines the classic Prada ingredients – amber and iris. There are also notes of neroli, geranium and patchouli. The character of the fragrance is described as airy, reserved and challenging.
This is the best release from Prada for men ever. It’s also the best designer release in the year 2016 so far. It’s a very sexy and sensual smell.
Prada L’homme is soft, powdery and sweet. It’s a slightly sweeter slightly fresher Dior Homme Eau, with the woody notes more prominent after an hour or so and mixing well with the neroli and iris. Projects nicely for a couple of hours then becomes the type of scent that you can be forgiven for assuming has disappeared, only to be pleasantly surprised by occasional whafts upto 5 hours later. Suitable for any occasion, day or night.
CHRISTIAN DIOR Sauvage
Dior launches its new fragrance Sauvage, with the name originating from the fragrance Eau Sauvage from 1966, although the two don’t belong to the same collection. Sauvage is inspired by wild, open spaces; blue sky that covers rocky landscapes, hot under the desert sun. Sauvage is a radically fresh composition that is raw and noble all at once. Dior in-house perfumer, François Demachy, signed this creation. The fragrance is announced as radically fresh, raw and noble at the same time. The composition is reportedly prevalent with carefully selected natural ingredients. Fresh top notes of Calabria bergamot encounter ambroxan, obtained from precious ambergris, and its woody trail.
Sauvage is Energizing, uplifting and addictive. The opening smells amazing in the air. Spray two sprays in the air and walk through and you know what i mean. A unique amazing scent in the opening. In the dry down the bergamot is lost, it’s still good. It also smells dark and fresh at the same time. That’s why the bottle goes from a dark to a light tint.
one of the best fragrances that you will ever use for the scent and the compliments. The performance is good, it last the whole day and for the sillage also is good; the fragrance performance is the same for Invictus for a comparison. Sauvage is definitely a crowd pleaser.
The exceptional Aventus was inspired by the dramatic life of a historic emperor, celebrating strength, power and success. Introduced in 2010 and crafted by the deft hand of Sixth Generation Master Perfumer Olivier Creed in collaboration with his son Erwin, this scent has grown to become the best-selling fragrance in the history of the brand. Olivier created its iconic name derived from a (“from”) ventus (“the wind”), illustrating the Aventus man as destined to live a driven life, ever galloping with the wind at his back toward success. Aventus is a sophisticated blend for individuals who savor a life well-lived. The finest ingredients were hand-selected for this composition, and father and son developed this provocative, masculine and optimistic fragrance as a joint effort. Top notes: blackcurrant, bergamot, apple and pineapple. Heart: rose, dry birch, Moroccan jasmine and patchouli. Base: oak moss, musk, ambergris, and vanilla.
Aventus is a masterpiece, masculine, classy and a great compliment getter. Smokey pineapple, black currant and woods.
It starts with smoky pineapple, which last for few minutes and become dry woody mossy scent. It remains as this woody mossy scent for few hours till it gradually disappears from my skin.
Very long longevity and huge projection. Strong but not too much. Definitely noticeable, but please be careful not to put too much on you, 2-3 sprays will be enough. The main downfall is the price… but truly if you want the best and you can afford it – buy it. I can promise you – You will never regret it
